Coyotes waive Alex Galchenyuk 12 days after signing him
Alex Galchenyuk was waived by the Coyotes just 12 days after signing a one-year deal with the team during free agency.
“The Arizona Coyotes have placed forward Alex Galchenyuk on unconditional waivers for purposes of terminating his contract,” the team announced Thursday on Twitter. “The Club will have no further comments at this time.”
Galchenyuk, 29, was set to start his third stint with the organization –– he played for the Coyotes in both the 2018-19 and 2021-22 seasons –– before Arizona was reportedly confronted with an “off-ice situation,” according to ESPN, regarding the forward.

Taiwan boy thrown 27 times during judo class taken off life support

In April, he had suffered severe brain haemorrhaging after a judo class which saw both his classmate and his coach practise their throws on him.
